Team in Training and Leukemia
A little of topic here. I'm not going to opine about anything legal...
Team in Training supports people who raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I had a friend who did this and ran an Olympic distance triathlon in Florida last year (approx. 3/4 mile swim, 26 mile bike, 10K run). The Palm Beach group raised $300,000 last year for Leukemia research.
Palm Beach Article
i have been amazed by the transformations that have occured since my baby had leukemia until now. unfortunately my first child, named Mary-Louise, died after being diagnosed with leukemia years ago and, since then there have been major improvements, partly due to the donations from kind people. So when my freinds granddaughter had leukemia, i thought she wouldn't have a chance but she survived it and for three years has been fighting it.
Excellent blog! More people should involve themselves with Team in Training.
I'm competing in the St. Anthony's Triathlon through Team in Training at the end of April. It all started because my grandmother was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in mid October. She's just gone through her fourth chemo, and cross my fingers the doctors tell her a stem cell transplant will happen in February. Anyhow, do check out my blog: racingforlila.blogspot.com
best,
